Over 11,000 candidates sat for Macau’s comprehensive competency assessment exam yesterday, with the of Public Administration and Civil Service Bureau reporting an 80% turnout of the 14,030 registered. Candidates said after the test that its questions focused more on logic, reading and Chinese proficiency, with fewer math problems. Some candidates said they had time to complete all questions, a reality more favorable than those of past exams. Grading is expected within a month, with results in July. Passing scores are valid for five years, opening jobs for senior-level roles that require a bachelor’s degree or less. A simpler test has candidates hopeful for good results and new prospects in public administration.
