The inaugural Macau International Children’s Arts Festival Music (MICAF) camp finished on a high note at the Macao Cultural Centre, showcasing the talents of young musicians from various regions.
The event featured an Open Rehearsal, a Closing Ceremony, and an Achievements Concert, where students demonstrated their skills developed over the six-day camp.
A total of 29 young violinists from different regions were admitted to the music camp.
The Achievements Concert was a highlight, featuring renowned violinist Joshua Bell alongside students performing classical pieces, including Tchaikovsky’s “Serenade for Strings in C major.”
Notable performances included a duet of Bach’s “Concerto for Two Violins in D minor” by students Sabrina Wang, Zhang Hanyue, and Cheong Tin Ut, with Bell.
The concert concluded with Bell’s captivating rendition of Vivaldi’s “The Four Seasons.”
During the Closing Ceremony, attended by dignitaries including Cultural Affairs Bureau president Deland Leong, certificates were awarded to instructors and participants.
The festival, co-hosted by the Cultural Affairs Bureau and Wynn Resorts, is intended to enrich Macau’s youth with musical education and performance opportunities. NS
