Pilot training program boosts local hiring at Air Macau

More than 40% of pilots at Air Macau are now locals, thanks to its pilot training program, according to data from the airline. This marks the seventh edition of Air Macau’s local pilot training program, which offers subsidies of up to 2 million patacas for students to attend intensive training both in Macau and abroad. Since launching in 2016, the program has attracted about 40 young Macau residents. Of those, 33 have become pilots, including 10 currently in training. Six of the pilots are women. The training program runs annually and the airline aims to recruit at least 10 residents each year.
