Customs cracks down on smuggling

In the first 22 days of this month, Macao Customs intercepted eight cases of items being smuggled out of the city at the Qingmao and Border Gate checkpoints. A total of 176 old mobile phones and 15 beauty products were seized. The suspects, ranging from 35 to 66 years old, were residents of Macau and mainland China who had concealed the items on their bodies, causing them to move stiffly. One woman was caught smuggling 15 beauty products, while others had between 18 and 38 used mobile phones.
