On the first day of the Chief Executive election nomination process yesterday, lawyer Lei Wun Kong, representing Sam Hou Fai, collected the candidacy form. He arrived at the Public Administration Building at 9:44 a.m. to officially initiate the candidacy, which requires at least 66 signatures from Electoral Commission members. In a press statement, Lei emphasized the aim of gathering as many signatures as possible. Sam already declared his intention to run for a sixth term Wednesday. “We will move forward with the candidacy process as swiftly and orderly as possible. At the same time, we will consult with Electoral Commission members per the Electoral Law to gather the maximum number of signatures,” he stated.
