MIF expands to boost economic opportunities

The 29th Macao International Trade and Investment Fair (MIF) is set to enhance its offerings with the addition of two new exhibition areas, aiming to leverage the unique advantages of the China-Portuguese platform.

Scheduled for Oct 16-19 at the Venetian Macao, this year’s fair will feature six dedicated exhibition areas, including a newly established “Portuguese-speaking Countries Market Exhibition Area.”

In celebration of the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China and the 25th anniversary of Macau’s return to China, the MIF will promote its “1+4” economic diversification strategy.

This initiative seeks to foster collaboration between various industries and enhance Macau’s position as a hub for international trade.

The six exhibition areas include the “Partner City Theme Exhibition Area,” “Macao-Qin Economic and Trade Exhibition Area,” and a special “Multi-Industry Exhibition Area.”

This new area will showcase innovations in sectors such as technology, health, and fashion, providing local small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) with opportunities to expand globally.

A highlight of this year’s MIF is the introduction of a beauty and health section within the “Big Health Exhibition Area.”

This addition aims to showcase the diversity of beauty brands in the Greater Bay Area (GBA) while exploring synergies between traditional Chinese medicine and modern beauty technologies.

Moreover, the fair will host thematic matching discussions and various online and offline promotional activities designed to facilitate business connections.

Exhibitors from Portuguese-speaking countries are particularly encouraged to participate, with many expressing their optimism about expanding their reach into Macau and mainland China.

As an event certified by the Global Association of the Exhibition Industry, MIF continues to play a pivotal role in promoting economic cooperation in the GBA. Nadia Shaw
