China and PLP Cultural Week continue to promote exchanges

The 16th Cultural Week of China and the Portuguese-speaking Countries (PLP) begins Thursday (Oct. 17) and continues over four days.

This year, the cultural and gastronomic event is themed “Sino-lusophone cultural confluences building bridges of understanding,” Secretary-General of the Permanent Secretariat of Forum Macao, Ji Xianzheng, announced yesterday during a press conference.

Ji said the event “aims to elevate Macau’s role as a bridge and link between China and Portuguese-speaking countries, deepen cultural and humanistic exchange and strengthen friendly relations between them, to promote economic and commercial cooperation and exchange between the China and PLP.”

The event will feature artists, cultural groups, and chefs (among other attendees) from China and PLP to participate in various cultural exchange activities.

The event will open Oct. 17 at the Legend Boulevard of the Fisherman’s Wharf in Macau.

The venue will also host music and dance performances presented by artistic groups from China and PLP, a crafts fair, a cooking workshop, and booths that exhibit goods and products from PLP and Macau.

Concurrently, chefs from PLP will offer special menus featuring delicacies from their respective countries at Vic’s Restaurant. RM
