The “China and the Portuguese-speaking Countries Film Festival,” is showcasing nearly 30 films in Chinese and Portuguese from Nov. 22 to Dec. 13. The festival is integrated into the 6th “Encounter in Macao – Arts and Cultural Festival between China and the Portuguese-speaking Countries.”
The festival kicked off Nov. 22 with the screening of the Chinese film “Escape from the 21st Century,” which has garnered acclaim at international festivals. Themed “Creating an Interesting Contrast,” the festival features five sections, including “Dual Screening Delight,” “Premiere of Chinese and Lusophone Films,” “Chinese-Portuguese Short Films,” and “Outdoor Screening—New Visual Forces in Macao.”
Throughout the festival, various outreach activities will be held, such as the “Kidz Fun: Parent-child Experience Session,” the “Portuguese Tile Painting Workshop,” and a talk with renowned Portuguese filmmaker Miguel Gomes. A special film ticket promotion, “Cinematheque・Passion” X “Galaxy Cinemas,” will also be launched. The festival is open to all, offering an immersive experience in the meeting of Chinese and Lusophone cultures through the power of cinema. VC
