Speaking to the Times, Ron Lam, a directly elected lawmaker representing the Association of Synergy of Macao, said he has not yet decided whether to run for the post again.
According to Lam, many factors, such as the balance between work and family, must be considered before a final decision is made.
When questioned on the matter, he did not exclude the possibility of the same group continuing to present a candidacy for the lawmaker post but with a different leader.
However, he left this decision for future evaluation within the association.
The Synergy of Macao was first announced in 2017 by Lam, a former member of the Macao Federation of Trade Unions, along with retired senior civil servant Vitor da Rocha Vai, former editor of Macao Daily News Johnson Ian, and the then vice-convener of the Northern District Community Service Consultative Committee Ho Chong Chun.
Also, lawmaker Lo Choi In expressed confidence in the competitiveness of this year’s elections but emphasized the importance of maintaining communication between the government and residents. With a team of 13 to 14 candidates, her group is hopeful for improved results and continued success in future elections, said Lo. RM
