The Office of the Secretary for Security released a statement yesterday refuting a rumor spread on social networks alleging that “the Chinese People’s Liberation Army (PLA) Macau Garrison’s special force killed several CIA [the United States’ Central Intelligence Agency] agents and thus received first class merit.” The Office clarified that “there was absolutely no such thing, according to [its] verification and confirmation with the PLA Macau Garrison.” The Secretary, Wong Sio Chak, also responded to media on the sidelines of the CB event stating, “In Macau, even if a kitten or a puppy has an accident, our police would know, not to mention such a huge thing,” he said, finding the rumor “very funny.”
