Statistics from the Macau International Airport (MIA) have shown that the passenger traffic volume and aircraft movement in July have both seen stable growth.
Passenger volume recorded an 11-percent increase year-on-year, surpassing 490,000, while the aircraft movement in July was more than 4,300, three percent more than the same period last year.
Looking back on the first seven months of 2014, passenger volume exceeded 3.1 million and aircraft movements over 29,000, increasing 11 and 8 percent respectively year-on-year.
Moreover, MIA suggested that the recent military exercise has “had little impact on flight punctuality in the East China area.”
It also noted that all the major markets, including South Asia, mainland China and Taiwan are all experiencing continuous growth.
Furthermore, MIA said that it is planning to launch flight services between Macau and Tianjin in September this year, which will include four weekly flights between the two cities. MIA said that this will provide more travel options to Northern China.
Some airlines, MIA said, will also launch more charter flights and frequencies to popular destinations in accordance with the peak in the summer season.
