Chui asks to extend border crossing hours

During his trip to Xiamen to attend the 18th China International Fair for Investment and Trade, the Chief Executive Chui Sai On met with Chinese Vice Premier Wang Yang.
During the meeting, the newly elected CE mentioned his hope to gradually extend the border-crossing hours between Macau and the mainland, a measure he said would benefit regional cooperation and development. Chui also acknowledged the importance of regional cooperation and conveyed that many small and medium size businesses in Macau want to enter Hengqin.
The Vice Premier first congratulated Chui on his re-election. He was also concerned with the cooperation between Macau and Hengqin, believing that the development of the neighboring island can help in diversifying Macau’s economy.
