Jiangmen boat sinks near Macau

A boat sailing from Jiangmen sank in the estuary of Macau’s sea region on Sunday night. Four workers who were on board at that time were rescued. Zhuhai, along with Macau, sent five customs vessels to help the rescue efforts. The sand-carrying boat was 56 meters long and 12.5 meters wide.  The boat was spotted 2.7 nautical miles east of one of Macau’s artificial islands. According to the boat’s crew, the surges of wind during the night caused water to enter the cabin which eventually led to the accident, according to a report by Southern Metropolis Daily.
