A Macau resident has allegedly been defrauded out of more than RMB100,000 by criminals who had claimed to exchange his sperm for more than RMB4.6 million.
The man in his 20s saw a street post at Tanzhou, Zhongshan, in early September that claimed a woman from Shanghai needed some ‘seeds’ (sperm) because her husband was infertile. In return, the ‘seed lender’ would be rewarded RMB800,000.
The man then called the phone number on the street post and spoke to a Mandarin-speaking woman, who told the victim that he would receive an extra RMB3.8 million if she were successfully impregnated.
However, the woman required the victim to provide her with a mainland bank account and transfer RMB200 into it to “show his sincerity.”
Several days after his transferring the sum, the man received a phone call from the woman, who claimed that she was already in Zhuhai and would like to meet him.
However, she claimed that, according to the tradition of her home town, the man had to transfer RMB3,888 to her before they met. The man complied.
In the days that followed, the woman asked the man to transfer more money to her several times, using different excuses such as home-town traditions.
In the end, the man still had not met the woman.
He stated to the Judiciary Police (PJ), when reporting the fraud on September 13, that he had lost a total of RMB100,000. He also claimed to have given his Home Return Permit number and other personal information to the woman. The PJ is currently investigating the crime.
In a separate case, the Public Security Police (PSP) has handled allegations of rape of an underage person. The case was brought to the authorities’ attention when PSP received a report on the morning of September 12 that a couple was fighting in an apartment on Rua da Bacia Sul.
Officers took the two to the hospital, where they found out that the female was actually only 15 years old. As a result, the authorities notified the family of the girl to assist them when taking statements.
When the 19-year-old man and the young girl were giving statements separately to the PSP officers, they learned that the two have known each other since November 2013 and had had sex for the first time at the girl’s house.
They became a couple at the end of April this year and the girl moved into the man’s apartment on Avenida do Almirante Lacerda.
PSP said that the girl had never revealed her age to the man, who also claimed that he did not know how old she was. Moreover, the man admitted that he had had sexual intercourse with her more than 20 times.
He also claimed to have told the girl that he had some illnesses that caused him to be infertile, and thus requested not to use condoms for all occasions of intercourse.
PSP said that the man has decided to pursue legal action against the girl for assaulting him, while the girl did not clearly state whether she would do likewise.
Nevertheless, the mother of the girl has already chosen to prosecute the man, on her daughter’s behalf.
