Corporate Bits | CEM to host 6th solar & capacitance model car races

Companhia de Electricidade de Macau (CEM) will host the sixth edition of the Solar & Capacitance Model Car Races on Sunday, September 23, once again inviting local students to explore how renewable energy can contribute to a sustainable, clean environment.

This year, for the first time, the races will take place at one of the participating secondary schools, the St. Joseph Diocesan College 5, with the objective of bringing the event to town and encouraging more direct interaction and participation from students and the public.

According to CEM, thus year the number of enrolled schools and teams has surpassed the previous five editions, with a record 600 students from 25 schools and 108 teams participating in the event.

Sixty-six teams will join the “Solar Model Car Race” for F4 to F6 students, while 42 teams will join the “Capacitance Model Car Race” for F1 to F3 students.

The winning teams will be awarded with cash prizes and trophies. Meanwhile, CEM will sponsor the top three in each race to compete in the “HK TREE 2018” to be held in November 2018.
