Beijing Airport verifying report executive under investigation

Beijing Capital International Airport Co., owner of the aerodrome in China’s capital, said it is verifying reports its general manager is being investigated.
Beijing Capital noted reports that Shi Boli, also an executive director, was “brought in” for investigation, the company said yesterday in a filing to the Hong Kong stock exchange. The company is not immediately able to verify the accuracy of the reports, it said.
The 21st Century Business Herald newspaper reported Shi was taken away this week by the Communist Party’s discipline inspection department. Officials have intensified efforts to root out corruption since President Xi Jinping came to power and warned graft was a threat to the party’s future.
The former chief executive of China Aircraft Leasing Group Holdings Ltd. was put under investigation as part of a graft probe involving officials at China Southern Airlines Corp., people familiar with the matter told Bloomberg in June. Poon Ho Man sent a resignation letter to the company while on vacation, China Aircraft said that month.
In November, China Southern said it had removed four officials who were being investigated on suspicion of “job-related crimes.” Bloomberg
