Briefs | MGTO: Hong Kong cooperating with Macau

Tourism agents in Hong Kong have been supporting Macau’s tourism industry, according to Macau Government Tourism Office (MGTO) head Helena de Senna Fernandes, who spoke on Friday during a luncheon in Hong Kong. In 2017, Macau welcomed more than 32 million visitors, 6.1 million of which were Hong Kong residents. Talking about marketing strategies, Senna Fernandes said that the MGTO’s representative in Hong Kong would launch brand-new promotional campaigns in the HKSAR.

Drill on class-suspension notification

The Education and Youth Affairs Bureau will be holding an interdepartmental class-suspension notification drill due to the issuance of a rainstorm warning signal on March 11. The one-hour drill will seek to “review the notification mechanism for class suspension due to inclement weather; to strengthen interdepartmental collaboration and to ensure that the work of class-suspension notification runs smoothly,” according to a statement issued by the Bureau.
