The Chief Executive (CE) Ho Iat Seng met with the president of the Macau Chinese Enterprises Association Fu Jianguo at the government headquarters on Friday, November 19. Other members of the organization attended the meeting as well, contributing views on the development of the financial, construction and telecommunications sectors, as well as the Guangdong–Macao Intensive Cooperation Zone in Hengqin.
With the association celebrating its 30th anniversary this year, the CE remarked that Chinese-owned companies in Macau have supported development in different areas of the territory, giving his thanks on behalf of the government. He expressed his hope that the members of the Macau Chinese Enterprises Association will remain faithful to their original convictions, and continue to promote the successful implementation of the “one country, two systems” principle with Macanese characteristics.
The CE noted that Macau’s economy continues to suffer the impact of the pandemic and recognized Chinese-owned companies in Macau for their support of the government’s responsive measures. He expects the association will actively participate in the development of the Hengqin cooperation zone, in order to maximize its capabilities and benefits. Staff reporter
