A grand anniversary celebration of The Art of Mixology series is happening at the St. Regis Bar coinciding with the illustrious 200th anniversary of The Macallan, creating a unique opportunity to honour two rich legacies in an unforgettable event spanning two evenings from November 15 to 16.
The St. Regis Bar’s renowned series, #TheArtofMixology, will present a special edition themed ‘Where Craft Meets Class’. This exclusive event will feature a lineup of distinguished guest mixologists who will showcase their expertise by crafting a selection of artisanal cocktails, as well as impeccable jazz performances for an unparalleled celebration.
On November 15, The St. Regis Bar will welcome Tom Liu – founder of [tei] by O’BOND in Taiwan, recognized by the 50 Best Discovery and a 2019 La Maison Cointreau International Champion, as well as Michito Kaneko – founder of Lamp Bar in Japan, No 55 on Asia’s 50 Best Bars list 2024. Styled around traditional tea ceremonies, Liu’s cocktail ingredients are sourced from around Taiwan, even drawing on elements from the world of wine for inspiration.
Meanwhile, Michito Kaneko – an international champion bartender, who was crowned World Class Bartender of the Year 2015, creates cocktails that feature predominant flavors of the ancient Japanese capital of Nara such as the Nara cypress house-made bitters or his own interpretation of vermouth from sake. Both expert mixologists are set to offer the very best cocktail innovation for an exemplary evening experience.
November 16 will see Singapore superstars Joash Conceicao – head bartender of Offtrack, No. 25 on Asia’s 50 Best Bars list 2024, and Shelley Tai – group operations director of Nutmeg & Clove, No. 6 on Asia’s 50 Best Bars list 2024, was also awarded as No. 28 on World’s 50 Best Bars list 2024 at The St. Regis Bar.
Under the theme of a warm social space for “all who are Guided by Leisure”, Offtrack is a music-centric bar and restaurant that serves up re-imagined cult classic cocktails by Conceicao featuring crowd favorite ingredients such as passionfruit, lemon, and almond.
In the final wrap up of this celebration, Nutmeg & Clove’s Tai will showcase a selection of Singaporean flavours that have been reinterpreted into progressive cocktails, often using familiar local ingredients in a way that tells the stories of Singapore itself.
