In celebration of the upcoming Mid-Autumn Festival, Galaxy Macau recently organized an afternoon out for 80 local seniors at the company’s Broadway property.
The event was held in association with the Associação de Juventude Voluntária de Macau (AJVM). The seniors are from Centro de Dia de Mong Há and Centro de Dia “Chong Pak Chi Ká.”
The afternoon started with the seniors sampling street snacks made by members from the Galaxy Volunteer Team. In addition, they had the opportunity to complete a small workout, which was a ring throwing stall game.
After some energetic games, they were brought to the Broadway Theatre to see “Class Golden Night Concert,” a performance by Chinese singer Tong Yau. The afternoon finished with gift bags and mooncakes being distributed to participants.
AJVM thanked Galaxy for providing the venue and sending a volunteer team to support the event. AJVM aims to help seniors feel loved and promote the spirit of helping others among Macau residents.
Sands China team revisits Chairman Mao’s era
Over 30 Sands China team members, including senior management from various departments, visited the “Mao Zedong Emerged in China” photography exhibition at the Handover Gifts Museum of Macao yesterday to enhance their understanding of mainland China and their sense of national pride.
The team learned a lot from the exhibition, which focuses on works that have been exhibited at the Mao Zedong Memorial Museum in Shaoshan. They said it helped them gain deeper insights into contemporary Chinese history.
Sands China president Wilfred Wong considers the exhibition this year exceptionally meaningful, with two extraordinary anniversaries for both China and the Macau SAR coming up.
“This insightful exhibition allows our team members to learn more about how Chairman Mao Zedong created a modern China, in turn helping [to] deepen their understanding and appreciation of the history and culture of mainland China,” Wong said.
