Melco holds responsible gaming forum

Melco Resorts & Entertainment held a leadership forum last week at the City of Dreams integrated resort with the purpose of educating its employees on responsible gaming.

The forum, titled “Responsible Gaming Leadership Forum,” was attended by over 600 of the company’s management staff.

Paulo Martins Chan, the director of the Gaming Inspection and Coordination Bureau (DICJ) of Macau, was the honorable speaker at the forum, according to a statement from Melco. He delivered a speech about the MSAR government’s policies to promote responsible gaming.

Chan said that the government was “glad to see that the gaming operators actively arrange their employees to participate in training regularly, [and] equip them with the knowledge of responsible gaming so that they can offer immediate assistance for people in need.”

Chan was joined at the forum by Professor Davis Fong, the director of the Institute for the Study of Commercial Gaming, and Lawrence Lee, a psychologist at the Gambling Addiction Treatment Service of the Macau Government.
