For the second straight year, Newsweek magazine has named Sands China as one of the ‘greenest’ companies in the world. The company’s global ranking jumped to number 62 in the magazine’s 2016 Green Rankings, up significantly from last year’s placement of 99.
According to a statement from Sands, the gaming operator reduced general waste by 10 percent in 2015 and its recycling rate rose from 2 percent in 2012 to 13 percent in 2015, with several initiatives having been attributed to this improvement.

MGM China hosted its “MGM SME Food Safety Seminar” on Tuesday, for more than 300 participants involved in local small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). The event, which also sought to cultivate sustainable partnerships with the community, was the first food safety seminar in Macau jointly organized by the private and public sectors, according to a statement from MGM.
The seminar instructed local SMEs in the food and beverage industry on Food Safety Law as well as international standards in the purchasing process.
“We understand the importance of helping local SMEs […] so that they may bring their businesses beyond Macau,” said MGM China CEO Grant Bowie.
