Sands Resorts Cotai Strip Macao announced that the company has entered into a long-term strategy partnership with mainland property development company Lander Real Estate Co., Ltd., to co-develop sporting events both nationally and abroad. The contract signing ceremony took place in Hangzhou, China.
“This strategic partnership will see our companies co-developing major sports offerings together, especially boxing events – a sport that continues to become increasingly popular in China,” said Dave Horton, global chief marketing officer of Las Vegas Sands Corp. & Sands China Ltd. “Sporting events are one of the many ways our company works to diversify Macau’s tourism landscape. Sands Resorts Cotai Strip Macao will work with Lander Real Estate to build upon the recognition of Macau and Sands Resorts Cotai Strip Macao as the home of the best boxing events in Asia.”

mcdonald’s global sales top estimates as new ceo seeks comeback

McDonald’s Corp. reported May sales that narrowly topped analysts’ projections, a sign the company is making progress under new Chief Executive Officer Steve Easterbrook.
Global same-store sales fell 0.3 percent in the period, the Oak Brook, Illinois-based company said in a statement yesterday. Analysts predicted a 0.9 percent drop, according to Consensus Metrix.
Easterbrook, who took over the CEO job in March, has vowed to pull McDonald’s out of its prolonged slump and transform the world’s largest restaurant chain into a modern, progressive burger company. He announced a turnaround plan last month that includes reorganizing the company’s leadership, cutting costs and returning cash to shareholders.
McDonald’s shares rose in early trading after the results were released. The stock had gained 2 percent through the end of last week.
McDonald’s announced in May that it would stop providing monthly sales data. The company will give its June numbers – along with its quarterly earning report in July – but that will be it. Most other companies in the fast food and retail industries already stopped making monthly sales numbers public.

Residents visiting Caritas Library can enjoy free CTM Wi-Fi service for 30 minutes after successfully logging in to the network, with no limits on the number of times users log in.
Secretary General of Caritas Macau Paul Pun expressed his appreciation to CTM for its support in providing Caritas Library users with free Wi-Fi, while CTM’s Vice President of Commercial, Ebel Cham said that the company will continue to expand its Wi-Fi hotspot coverage through collaboration with different parties.
