The China Music Awards will be held at The Venetian on April 15 for the fifth consecutive year.
Sponsored by The Venetian Macao, the China Music Awards will bring some of the music industry’s biggest stars together for a night of awards and entertainment at the Cotai Arena. The ceremony will be broadcast live on Channel V throughout China and other Asian countries.
According to a statement, the theme of the ceremony is “Initial Dream, Born for Music” and the event aims to pay tribute to the singers who have contributed to the industry over the past 20 years.
The China Music Awards was originally launched back in 1994 and has previously gathered the nation’s top music industry talent in host cities like Beijing, Shanghai, Chengdu, Hong Kong, Macau and Taipei. It is the only Chinese music awards event that is telecast in China and around the world.
cem collaborates with sam yuk school’s annual science fair
CEM joined the Annual Science Fair last week, organized by the Macau Sam Yuk Middle School titled “Materealize”: Ideas, Knowledge and Innovation.”
The fair, aiming for students to cultivate a positive attitude toward and a deeper appreciation of scientific studies, held various activities designed to support students’ learning of different principles related to astronomy, chemistry and physics.
CEM presented information about Macau’s local power generation and CEM’s environmental initiatives, and led the students in relevant hands-on experiments.
According to a press release, the students tried to make a solar model car by themselves, and constructed wind blades using disposable plastic water bottles to be installed in a wind generator.
CEM conducts various activities each year to bring Macau’s students in touch with different renewable energies, as well as to enhance their awareness and recognition of the use of renewable energy..
music and poetry jam at grand lapa
Grand Lapa is set to introduce its first “Open Mic” music and poetry appreciation evening at Vasco Bar and Lounge on Thursday. Co-Organized with The Script Road – Macau Literary Festival, the event will introduce a new type of entertainment, adopting the trendy “open mic” concept from Western countries. According to a statement, performances can be in any language from any culture, from a solo performer to band, instrumental or acoustic, and can be traditional poetry or a reading.
Titled “On the Road: Music and Poetry Jam,” this two-and-
a-half-hour experience has free admission. The “open mic” session will start at 9:30p.m. with 30-minute sessions of music followed by poetry, recurring until midnight. The event, which allows everyone to perform at the microphone, welcomes guests above 18.
