For those who have a sweet tooth and love to take beautiful and creative photos for social media, Cha Bei is the place to be. Recently, two world-class pastry masters are presenting an afternoon extravaganza celebrating their Asian roots.
World Pastry Champion 2019 and Enchanté Pâtisserie’s Executive Chef and owner Tan Wei Loon collaborates for the first time with Chef Yam Lok Hin, Silver prize winner in the Valrhona Chocolate Competition, North America. In this year’s Constance Festival Culinaire, Chef Hin even took the award for “Best Artistic Piece” and was the “Pierre Hermé Trophy” Runner-up. Through a dazzling array of exquisite treats, they share flavours that take everyone back to their childhood – the fluffy warmth of sweet potato, Grandpa’s favorite tea, the comforting sweetness of Chinese sweet soup – all of which get a new interpretation . One would find the two chefs’ signature cakes and an amazing selection of tea, coffee and welcome drinks that pay homage to Hong Kong and Malaysia. MDT finds the red bean drink to stand out as an unusual yet delicious creation.
Together with the culinary team, Chef Hin and Chef Wei Loon have created a 1.3-meter-tall sugar sculpture which will be on display at the establish until early September. Perfect background for a beautiful photo shoot indeed.
