The University of Saint Joseph (USJ) has opened applications for its Lifelong Learning Programs for the first quarter of 2015, starting at the end of January. The programs range from language classes to media production and religious studies.
The Language and Culture Programs include Cantonese and Mandarin for foreigners, taught by a professor who also speaks English. Portuguese, French, Japanese and Korean language classes, as well as English business writing, are also available.
A Media Production program offers training in Apple’s Final Cut Pro X and Avid Pro Tools 101. These programs are conducted by Apple and Avid certified instructors, targeting people working in media production who are eager to enhance their skills, USJ said in a press release.
The religious studies program includes a Latin Language course for beginners taught by professor Roberto Ceolin, who holds a Doctorate Degree from the Faculty of Linguistics, Philology and Phonetics of the University of Oxford. USJ also highlighted that it is providing a course on the “History of Ancient Christianity,” which is designed for the members of the Diocese or those interested in the emergence of the faith.
All programs have been included in the Continuing Education and Development Plan 2014-2016. Therefore, eligible applicants can settle their tuition fees with their PDAC accounts.
Those interested in applying should visit the Lifelong Learning Office at UJS’s premises at the NAPE campus for registration procedures. To apply for the subsidy provided by the Education and Youth Affairs Bureau (DSEJ –
PDAC) applications must present their valid Macau resident ID card as well as submitting a copy. Apart from the religious studies programs, a MOP200 application fee is required.
