The Alliance for the Promotion of the Basic Law of Macao was the last group to submit their candidate list and political platform to the Legislative Assembly Electoral Affairs Commission (CAEAL).
Yesterday, the group, running for the first time in the Legislative Assembly (AL) elections, delivered a list composed of a total seven members, led by Chow San Cheng, with Wang Yi Leong as number two.
All the list members are first-time participants in the elections and have no prior known political participation.
After the delivery of the official documents to CAEAL, Chow briefed the media, explaining that the group’s main objective is to promote the spirit of the Macau Basic Law, striving for the reform of the AL and a society built on the rule of law.
A total of 19 nomination lists for the direct elections have been confirmed by the CAEAL to participate in the elections this September after the initial submission of 20 nomination lists.
Simultaneously, the indirect elections will take place for sectorial seats that include five nomination lists to represent the Industrial, Commercial, and Finance sectors, the Work sector, the Professional sector, the Education and Social Services sectors, and the Cultural and Sports sectors. RM
