Gradual increase of visitors from Xi’an, Qingdao
The Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO) is aiming for international tourists to return to about 60-70% of pre-pandemic levels in 2019, with more than two million overseas tourists this year. Speaking to the press, deputy director Cheng Wai Tong also said that following the launch of Individual Visit Scheme (IVS) for Xi’an and Qingdao residents, over the past four days, the number of Shanxi tourists to Macau increased by 1.5% as compared to March 1 to March 5, while the number of Qingdao tourists increased, compared with the same period, by 10%.
