IAM accommodates over 160 pets during partial lockdown 

The Municipal Affairs Bureau (IAM) has accommodated over 160 pets during the partial lockdown, as well as those living in red zone buildings. During the partial lockdown, the government considered it a crime to walk dogs as it was deemed a non-essential activity. The owners of eight dogs living in red zones also sought private veterinarians for examination and hospitalization, according to a statement. Private veterinarians are allowed to enter red zone buildings to provide treatment for residents’ pets in accordance with the requirements of the health department’s pandemic prevetion guidelines. 

Construction sector worried about masks in hot weather

The construction sector has expressed worries that workers who work outside will have to wear an N95 mask in hot weather to comply with the government’s pandemic prevention measures. A sector representative expressed concerns that workers may suffer from heat stroke or experience discomfort due to the prolonged wearing of these masks, with recent temperatures as high as 37 degrees Celsius..
