International student card applications open

The Tertiary Education Services Office (GAES) has opened applications for the International Student Card. Local students who are enrolled in Macau’s higher education institutions or attending universities abroad can apply until October 30, GAES said in a statement.
Applications must be submitted online by October 30 via the Macau higher education students’ blog at studentblog.gaes.gov.mo. Students must then pay the requisite fee at their university. The card will be issued within two to four weeks of receiving payment. Students looking to obtain a card immediately can request one at the Hong Kong Overseas Studies Centre.
The International Student Identity Card (ISIC) has been endorsed by UNESCO and is issued to students in over 130 countries. The card features several benefits including discounts and promotional offers for plane tickets, EURail passes, accommodation, food, museums, concerts and other cultural events.
