Management of Peninsula WWTP receives seven bids, six approved

The public tender for the management of the Macau peninsula wastewater treatment plant (WWTP) has received seven bids, the Environmental Protection Bureau (DSPA) has noted after the ceremony of opening bids.

Only six of the seven bids received were finally approved to run in the tender as one was excluded, although the DSPA has not disclosed the reason for the exclusion of the seventh bidder.

The six approved bids are priced between MOP228.4 million and MOP299.8 million patacas.

The lowest bid (MOP228,426,280.12) was presented by a consortium led by the Companhia de Construção e Engenharia Kwong Yu, Lda, while the highest (MOP299,790,032.90) was proposed by another consortium composed by Veolia (Macau)-Serviços de Tratamento de Resíduos, Limitada and Veolia China Holding Limited.

The average price for all six bids was around MOP261.54 million.

The tender will award a contract for the operation and maintenance of the WWTP for a five-year period with the winning company required to fulfill the job description requirements presented in the initial tender document. RM
