MGM-sponsored center for disabled opens to the public

The Macau Assistive Technology Resources Center, a facility that features the display of barrier-free homes and promotional materials for auxiliary tools, sponsored by MGM, has been launched.
Run by the General Union of Neighborhood Associations of Macao (UGAMM), people with disabilities can come and try out the tools, receive an assessment service, or ask to borrow assistive devices.
The objective of UGAMM is to offer caregivers and those in need easy access to auxiliary tools in order to improve their quality of life, the gaming operator noted in a statement.
It is believed that through the provision of professional advice and the assessment service, together with the improved deployment of auxiliary tools, the community will become more acquainted with the relevant resources.
Meanwhile, MGM pledged to organize more volunteer activities to foster the development of the center.
