Nighttime construction of Border Gate bus terminal

dispatch signed by the Chief Executive was published this week in the Official Gazette, announcing the working hours of the construction of the Border Gate bus terminal.

According to the notice, the contractor undertaking the construction work was allowed to start work on the project and the work period is approved until November 10.

On public holidays and Sundays, works can be performed between 8 a.m. and 10 p.m., while on the other days of the week, construction is only allowed between 8 p.m and 10 p.m.

The CE order was announced to ensure the timely completion of the bus terminal’s improvement.

In September of last year, the Transport Bureau and the Infrastructure Development Office announced that the underground border gate bus terminal would be partially reopened in the second quarter of 2019.

Before the reopening, the public departments will carry out renovation works at the terminal, which was severely damaged by Typhoon Hato.

The main construction will start in the third quarter of 2018, with the terminal expected to fully reopen in the fourth quarter of 2019.

The construction project involves seven main renovation steps, including the removal of electrical facilities to the ground and increasing the number of waiting lounges.
