Oktoberfest returns to Macau for 12 days

This year’s annual Oktoberfest Macau at MGM opened yesterday and will run for 12 days to boost the city’s festive vibe.

Amid disease control restrictions, last year’s event was held indoors. This year’s event returns to the rooftop terrace of the casino operator’s Cotai property.

The organizer aims to stage the biggest such event in history, “to welcome even more locals and tourists to join the ‘Macau meets Munich’ festival,” according to a statement issued about the event.

Also returning is the Munich-originated Högl Fun Band, which often plays a song called “Nei Hou, Macau,” dedicated to the Macau event.

Kenneth Feng, president and executive director of MGM China Holdings Limited, said, “Entering into its 13th edition, MGM proudly presents a grand outdoor carnival for overseas visitors and locals.”

Over the past 12 events, Oktoberfest Macau at MGM has welcomed over 170,000 guests.

Oktoberfest Macau at MGM 2023 takes place between Oct. 12 and 23, from 6 p.m. to 12 a.m. daily at MGM Cotai, with the Family Day session taking place on Oct. 15 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Admission tickets and table reservations are available for sale at both MGM properties from now till Oct. 23. AL
