Over 30,000 residents register to use the Macau-HK border crossing via QR codes

Over 30,000 local residents are now able to use the Macau-HK border crossing via QR code. Launched on Friday, the encrypted QR code can be used to complete automated immigration clearance at Hong Kong’s e-channels, without the need to present a physical ID card. This will save those eligible to use the system the hassle of presenting physical documentation. The move is the latest in a series of measures aimed at facilitating cross-border movement between the two cities.
