Sands China and Macao Polytechnic University are joining forces in a bid to boost the development of smart tourism in Macau through a memorandum of understanding and the co-hosting of a smart tourism symposium on Nov. 24 at The Londoner Macao.
The MOU aims to strengthen research on smart tourism, technological innovation, and talent development by deepening exchanges between the academic and business sectors. The symposium will explore the opportunities and challenges for Macau in promoting the development of a smart tourism city and nurturing smart tourism technology professionals in the city.
A statement from the gaming operator noted that the event will also feature a demonstration from a new school-enterprise cooperation project that applies artificial intelligence to Macau’s leisure industry. The project’s tourism training software features a real-time dialogue generation system that is based on large language models.
