Last week the typhoon did not stop two award-winning chefs, Barry Quek and Jan Ruangnukulkit, coming together for an exclusive four-hands dining experience. Chef Barry, the renowned Head Chef of the Michelin-starred Whey in Hong Kong, is renowned for his masterful fusion of Singaporean flavours with modern European cuisine. Alongside him, Executive Chef Jan’s creativity came through in her innovative and delectable Thai dishes from Saffron, the Michelin Selected Restaurant.
Chef Jan’s experience is stellar. Before joining Saffron, she worked in several Michelin-starred restaurants with award-winning international chefs recognized in “The World’s 50 Best Restaurants”, and learned from famous chefs from all over the world, including Thomas Keller, a three-Michelin-starred chef renowned for his culinary skills and exemplary standards and David Thompson, a maestro of Thai cuisine.
This captivating dinner showcased the chefs’ dedication to using premium ingredients from their origins, resulting in a symphony of Southeast Asian flavours that seduced our palate. With a menu featuring a tantalising array of dishes, including appetisers, salad, curry, soup, main course and dessert, each course promised to delight.
