After receiving inquiries from some second and third-generation Indian residents of Macau, lawmaker Sulu Sou is requesting the government consider providing crucial information, such as that related to Covid-19, in English, alongside Chinese and Portuguese. He added that he was told that the help-seekers were born and raised in Macau, are fluent in English and can manage basic communication in Cantonese. Sou pointed out that nearly 10% of the city’s population is of an ethnicity other than Chinese and Portuguese.

Ng Kuok Cheong asks for Ka-Ho chapel area to be renamed

Citing the name that the late Friar Gaetano Nicosia gave to the former Ka-Ho leprosarium – now a community facility – lawmaker Ng Kuok Cheong is requesting the government to officially rename the area the Our Lady Village of Ka-Ho and refrain from referring to the ex-leprosarium. He stressed that the new name will show respect for the late priest. He also is asking to transform some of the architecture into galleries which showcase the history of the location.
