Thunderstorms likely over weekend

A trough of low pressure is expected to affect the southern coast of China in the coming few days, the weather bureau warned. There will be increasing showers and thunderstorms in the city and showers will become more frequent, with the temperature to drop slightly from Saturday to Sunday, the Meteorological and Geophysical Bureau (SMG) advised. The weather will be cool and cloudy with persistent rain early next week.
