A severe leakage resulting from a disconnection of underground water pipes has caused flooding on the sidewalk by the roundabout which interconnects the Avenida dos Jogos da Asia Oriental, the Avenida Marginal Flor de Lotus and the Avenida do Estadio in Taipa at around 1 a.m. on Saturday, TDM reported.
The causes of the rupture were related to works being done at a construction site in the same area, and the authorities provided a prompt response to the incident.
As a consequence of the flooding of the sidewalk, the police was forced to detour all traffic from the area during the early hours of Saturday while water supply to several buildings in the surrounding area was also suspended to allow for repairs to be made.
According to Macao Water, the repair was done and supply was reestablished a few hours later.
