In response to the Macau government’s and the Liaison Office’s call for targeted poverty relief in Mainland China, Wynn Macau has partnered with the Macau Federal Commercial Association of the Convention & Exhibition Industry (MCECA) in organizing trips to Congjiang and a ‘Congjiang Gala Cultural Night’.
Over 70 Wynn employee volunteers, MCECA members, as well as local teachers and students, travelled to Congjiang last November, as well as in March and May this year. Participants supported the poverty alleviation work in Congjiang and saw the villagers’ needs and difficulties.
In addition, six Wynn team members from engineering-related departments conducted an inspection of the buildings that families live in. They also held follow-up meetings with their colleagues after they returned to Macau, in the hope of improving their living conditions by offering professional advice.
Linda Chen, Vice Chairman and Executive Director of Wynn Macau, presented a check of MOP3 million to Mr. Yao Jian, Deputy Director of the Liaison Office in Macau on August 14.
