15 prisoners with flu symptoms quarantined

The Macau Prison has placed a total of 15 male inmates aged from 28 to 47 under quarantine after they all showed flu-like symptoms, such as fever, cough and sore throats since Monday. The prisoners have been placed in two different buildings under the same cell. A report on the infection has also been sent to the Health Bureau, which has urged the public to stay vigilant against the highly contagious illness. According to a Health Bureau statement, all of the affected inmates have already received medical treatment. After the discovery of the infection, authorities have already increased their preventive measures against a possible outbreak in the prison.

St Dominic’s church facade will be undergoing renovation works for approximately 20 days, the Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC) has revealed in a statement. The church, located in the Senado area, will not be closed to the public while renovations are ongoing. The bureau estimates that the renovation and inspection works will be completed within 20 days.
