Melco Resorts and Entertainment (Melco) is hosting the Studio City Christmas Bazaar – Partnership with Local Small and Medium Enterprises with more than 40 local vendors to set a stage for these familiar and emerging businesses to shine.
The festive marketplace is taking place between now and December 31 at Studio City’s French Garden, overseen by the iconic Golden Reel, the world’s first figure-of-eight shaped ferris wheel, amidst glittering festive decorations that certainly will mesmerize both adults and children.
Ms. Akiko Takahashi, Executive Vice President and Chief of Staff to Chairman and CEO, said, “We continue to be committed to developing successful partnerships with local suppliers and SMEs for the sustainable development of Macau. It is hoped the Bazaar will not only enhance market exposure and sales for participating local merchants, but also enable Melco to build and strengthen relationships with Macau’s SMEs, to help each other identify products and services that can be offered to our guests, the broader industry, and the community.”
The 40 plus SMEs participating in this festive Christmas Bazaar include many of the city’s most famed brand names, such as the local ice cream manufacturer Macau Dairy and Huanying Trading Company Limited, a century-old seller of quality preserved mandarin peels.
Mr. David Fong, General Manager of Huanying Trading Company Limited, expressed his appreciation for Melco’s goodwill of promoting local SMEs: “We are of course exceptionally grateful for this opportunity offered by Melco, who provides us a platform to introduce our quality products and traditional Chinese culinary wisdom to people from around the world, for the fact that Studio City is distinguishingly attractive to both tourists and local residents of all ages.”
Alongside these familiar brands, Melco has also invited emerging brands, such as Vega Vega, a local dining establishment promoting vegan dining concepts. The creative Christmas Bazaar sees a lot of good causes, for there is a booth dedicated to supporting charities, namely the Salvation Army, Fuhong Society and Caritas Macau.
“At this Christmas Bazaar, we are selling educational materials for children made under supervision of experts in the educational discipline. All revenue will be used to support our charity work,” Ms. Susanna Leong, Tutor at Caritas Macau’s social enterprise Play with Kids, said.
Open to the public daily between 5pm to 10pm, the bazaar represents of a wide range of local businesses offering food and beverage, handicrafts, toys, decorations and furnishings, and other gift categories, and targets visitors, tourists, and gift shoppers during the festive month. Also offered is a range of family-friendly activities such as face painting, handicraft workshops, performances and giveaways.
