It was a night of bling as 60 sets of Italian-crafted jewelry were shown off at the “Jewels of Italy”, a gala event held at the 46th-floor Sky Lobby in Central Plaza, Wan Chai last week. The show was part of the recent 2nd Hong Kong International Diamond, Gem & Pearl Show and the 32nd Hong Kong International Jewelry Show where close to 200 prominent jewelers showcased their latest collections to Asian and international buyers. The Italian Pavilion was the largest European pavilion, as usual.
“Jewelry has a long tradition in the Italian aesthetic culture; its name represents quality, style, creativity, technology and above all the pursuit of elegance, glamor and artistry,” Italian trade commissioner Paola Guida, who hosted the evening, said.
In collaboration with Trendvision Jewellery + Forecasting, a division of Fiera di Vicenza, the four main trends of 2016 were presented during the parade – Airy Perspective, Dramatic Poetry, Global Delights and Digital(east).
Injecting new design concepts and artistic elements, these trends were expressed through refined craftsmanship and various prized materials such as gold, silver, diamonds, coral, and pearls.
A simple yet elegant stage design was used to showcase the 60 sets of top Italian jewelry through the beautiful catwalk shows by 15 Hong Kong’s elite models, including Ana R., Mikki Yao and Kayla Wong. The gala evening was attended by around 300 guests. MDT, Hong Kong
