Mozambique and Brazil sign business cooperation agreements

The governments of Mozambique and Brazil Monday in Maputo signed four cooperation agreements, one of which aims to promote partnerships between businessmen from both countries through facilities in granting visas.
The documents were signed by the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation of Mozambique, Oldemiro Baloi and the Ministers of State for Foreign Affairs of Brazil, Mauro Vieira and Minister of State for Development, Industry and Foreign Trade, Armando Monteiro of Brazil.
In addition to the agreement to facilitate the granting of visas for businessmen, the two governments signed agreements in the areas of renewable energy, investment promotion and development of trade and investment and technical cooperation.
Speaking after the signing of the agreements, the Mozambican Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation said they were a sign of excellent two-way cooperation and provided a basis for its extension.
In turn, the Brazilian Minister of State for Foreign Affairs said opportunities for two-way cooperation in the business field were huge, noting the importance of the agreements signed today in the flow of investments between the countries.
In 2014, trade between Brazil and Mozambique amounted to US$74 million. The Brazilian delegation previously visited São Tomé and Príncipe and after Mozambique will travel on to Angola.  MDT/Macauhub
