‘Words from the CE’ online
The Chief Executive’s Office has created a new section on its official website for the city’s leader to express his personal viewpoints on current social circumstances. Together with an audio clip, the first article published on May 10 on the “Words from the Chief Executive” page said that the city’s goal of turning itself into a world travel and leisure destination is realistic, as long as everyone cooperates with each other to overcome difficulties along the road. Chui urged residents to have the courage to confront the adjustment period in the gaming industry, and to keep Macau on its course towards strong collective development. He also mentioned in the article that the city has been achieving economic diversity in phases. The chief executive expressed confidence that the robust fiscal reserve could further be consolidated to move the region towards sustainable development through its multiple roles as a Luso-Chinese platform, as well as a world travel and leisure center.

This reinforces the efforts of MGM Macau in supporting the local government in improving people’s living and working conditions,” MGM’s senior vice president of design, development and construction, Mel Hansen, said.
