The Macau Polytechnic Institute (MPI) has received a Quality Award from the Asia-Pacific Quality Network (APQN) for 2015 in the category of Best/Model Internal Quality Assurance.
According to a press release issued by the local higher education institution, “MPI is the first in Macau to receive this international award. With winners of the APQN Awards determined by an international jury, this award represents international recognition of the quality and standards of MPI’s educational provision.”
The presentation ceremony was held during the 2015 APQN Conference and Annual General Meeting organized in Kunming in late April 2015. Recipients of other APQN Quality Awards included, amongst others, Dr Judith Eaton, President of the US’s Council for Higher Education Accreditation and the Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education, UK.
Established in 2003, APQN is an important international organization devoted to safeguarding the quality of higher education in the Asia-Pacific region and to promoting global standards and commendable international practices in higher education. At present it has 156 members from over 30 countries or regions, including the Tertiary Education Quality Standards Agency (Australia) and the Hong Kong Council for Accreditation of Academic and Vocational Qualifications.
