The Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC) advanced to the second phase of experimental operation of the Cinematheque Passion.
According to a statement issued by the IC, the program was greeted with enthusiasm and attracted entities to organize reservations for more than thirty film screenings. The three-storey building is located at Travessa da Paixão.
IC will continue to run the “Temporary Venue Booking Program of Cinematheque Passion”, which commenced last September as part of the first phase, to fully utilize the venue’s resources. Starting last Friday, members of the film industry, filmmakers and film associations are all welcome to make reservations for ticket lobbies and screening rooms.
The ticket lobby, screening room and control room are located on the ground floor of the Cinematheque, and are primarily used for screening art and indie films.
In September, the Times detailed some services that will be provided during the second stage. IC intends to develop a film information room on the first floor that will feature local film materials, periodicals and magazines. It will also serve other functions, including video storage, film journals, book loans and film appreciation.
Cinematheque aims to cultivate local film appreciation to promote Macau film culture, and will offer a series of activities, such as film-themed seminars and workshops, to local film enthusiasts and audiences.
