MGM MACAU recently hosted “MGM•Mongolia Nomadic Night”, a dinner and show for selected Golden Lion Club members at the Grand Ballroom. Held at a venue decorated as a yurt surrounded by elements of nature to replicate the grasslands of Mongolia, the event featured a traditional Mongolian gourmet feast and live entertainment as well as rounds of lucky draw.“MGM•Mongolia Nomadic Night”, which gave away HKD1,880,000 in prize money, was part of the celebratory series for VIPs that highlights the culture and cuisine of China.

SJM announces living subsidy increases and ‘subsidy-plus plan’ for employees
Sociedade de Jogos de Macau announced living subsidy increases for its employees starting from 2015 and introduced the company’s “Subsidy-Plus Plan”.
From 2015, SJM will award its active employees annual living subsidies of either 2 or 1.5 months of their monthly salary (those with lower salary will receive two months) in two equal payments in January (“New Year Subsidy”) and July (“Summer Subsidy”). Moreover, those employees with monthly salaries of MOP30,000 or less can join the Subsidy-Plus Plan to accumulate their Summer Subsidies for certain periods of time and receive Subsidy-Plus Awards. The new system will be effective from 1 January 2015 to 31 March 2020.

cuban jazz legend arturo sandoval plays venetian theatre
One of the world’s most celebrated jazz musicians, as well as a renowned classical artist, pianist and composer, Arturo Sandoval performed with his Arturo Sandoval Quintet at The Venetian Theatre Aug. 30, as part of the celebrations commemorating the 7th anniversary of The Venetian Macao.
With Sandoval teaming up with a talented cast of musicians – saxophone player Zane Musa, pianist Mahesh Balasooriya, drummer Johnny Friday, bass player John Belzaguy, and percussionists Armando Arce – Saturday evening’s audience was treated to Sandoval’s legendary virtuosity, courtesy of a diversity of song styles – from funky and fast to jazz standards and Cuban jazz – all met with an enthusiastic response by the audience.
