ENTERTAINMENT | ‘The Voice of China’ returns to Macau

Voice of China 3_01China’s hit reality TV show The Voice of China, with an estimated average viewership of 4 per cent or more of China’s total television audience and reaching across 50 cities, returned to The Venetian Macao yesterday, filming a concert at The Venetian Theatre for one of its Season 3 episodes. The episode is scheduled to be broadcast exclusively via Zhejiang Satellite TV on National Day (October 1).
The Macau episode also determined the teams’ singing order for the program’s ultimate battle.
Apart from delivering talented amateurs’ performances for the audience, the show made use of a National Day theme to promote traditional Chinese virtues, in order to inspire contestants and the crowd to carry forward a spirit of perseverance, unity and positivity.
Season 3 of The Voice of China features four celebrities who serve as judges and mentors: Chyi Chin, Wang Feng, Na Ying and Yang Kun. They joined the show’s 17 contestants yesterday on stage at The Venetian Theatre.
After performances by each team were led by the four judges, the theatre audience participated in a live poll, with the team earning the most votes winning the right to choose the order of the teams singing in the season finale on Oct. 7 in Beijing.
According to a press release issued by Sands China, “This latest The Voice of China event is the most recent example of the success of Sands China’s
multi-tiered entertainment strategy, which has been instrumental in bringing a wide variety of music, sports and cultural events to Macau.”
The gaming operator stressed that The Voice of China event, which results from a collaboration between the The Venetian Macao and Star China Media Ltd, “broadcasts in mainland China providing widespread exposure to Macau as a tourist destination and to Sands China’s integrated resort offering.”
